Houston PACE

Houston’s PACE program launches Aug. 3rd

Since the passage of the Texas Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) act, cities across the state have enacted localized PACE programs. The Houston City Council approved a PACE program in November of 2015. The Way Companies are proud to announce that program will be officially operational on August 3rd!

The Houston PACE program offers a way for commercial, industrial, and large multifamily properties to finance energy-efficient upgrades. The positive impact of PACE will benefit not only the City government, but also the economy, the community at-large and particularly property owners. Money once spent on utilities will now be able to be capitalized on and used to pay for energy-efficient upgrades, which will result in bottom-line savings.

The Way Companies has been a strong proponent of PACE and was involved in developing the toolkit (PACE in the Box) used by local governments to create their PACE programs. Pace in a box is the same toolkit the City of Houston used to develop their own program.

The Way Companies was also part of the first PACE project to close in Texas, and as such, we are experienced in obtaining the financing and are familiar with all the steps in the process.
